Oral Contraceptive Resupply

Participating community pharmacies are now able to supply eligible patients in WA and SA with a resupply of the oral contraceptive pill (OCP). This new program will make it easier and quicker to obtain the OCP if you need another repeat or if your OCP prescription has expired.

Wizard pharmacists who have completed additional training, will provide an informed assessment before issuing a resupply of the OCP for a period of up to 12 months.

You are eligible for resupply of the OCP through your local participating pharmacy if you:1

  • are aged between 16 to 39 years

  • have taken the pill continuously for two years, as prescribed by a GP or nurse practitioner

  • are taking a low-risk oral contraceptive pill for contraceptive purposes

  • are deemed safe by the pharmacist to continue taking the pill

If you are aged between 16 and 17 years, you can receive a single resupply for up to 4 months. If you are aged between 18 and 39 years, you can receive resupply for up to 12 months, as long as the supply does not extend the date of your last OCP review with a prescriber beyond two years.

Fees for consultation and medication will apply.

More information and a booking link will be provided in coming days.
